December 15, 2025

There are moments in baseball that don’t live in stat lines.

No batting average.

No ERA.

No bracket graphic refreshing on a website every ten minutes.

This is one of those moments.

As of December 15, 2025, the Ancient City Reds are officially complete. Not paused. Not rebuilding. Not “we’ll see next season.” Complete. The organization has closed. Four seasons of one specific team — from 11U through 13U — are now history.

This post exists because it has to.

Because too much was built to let it disappear quietly.

Because silence would be the wrong ending.

So this is the record — honest, complete, and permanent.

The End of the Ancient City Reds

The Ancient City Reds concluded operations on December 15, 2025, following the USSSA Winter Nationals at the USSSA Space Coast Complex. While official statements from coaches and managers have circulated within the baseball community for roughly two months, ancientcityreds.com was unable to publish coverage due to technical difficulties.

That delay does not change the reality.

The Reds did not dissolve in chaos. They finished doing what they always did: playing real competition, on a real stage, against real opponents.

The final game — a 9–4 loss to Tropic Thunder — was not a collapse, not an embarrassment, and not a defining failure. It was simply the final inning of a long story.

What This Team Was

This specific Ancient City Reds team began in Spring 2024 as a small, rec-based group. No rankings. No expectations. No brand recognition. Just players willing to work and coaches willing to invest.

Over time, something rare formed.

Across four seasons — Spring 2024 through Fall 2025 — this group grew into one of the most respected teams in the area and the state, not through shortcuts or hype, but through brotherhood, discipline, and consistency.

Seasons Played

  • Spring 2024
  • Fall 2024
  • Spring 2025
  • Fall 2025

Cumulative Record (11U–13U)

66–53–2

That record matters not because it is perfect — it isn’t — but because of how it was earned. The Reds played tough schedules, played up, and rarely took the easy path.

The largest and most defining stretch came during the Spring 2024 12U season, when the Reds posted a 29–15–1 record and firmly established themselves as a team that belonged.

Championships & Defining Moments

The Ancient City Reds didn’t chase trophies — but they earned them.

Tournament Achievements

  • Ancient City Spooktacular Champions – 2024
  • North Florida Swings for Pink Champions – 2024
  • USSSA Winter Nationals Runners-Up – 2024
  • USSSA Easton Hype NIT Runners-Up – 2025
  • Ripken 8-State Experience (Pigeon Forge, TN) Silver National Champions – 2025

Some moments don’t need context.

A 21–1 victory over local rivals St. Augustine Strikeouts in 2025 wasn’t about the score. It was about execution, focus, and the ceiling of what this group could be when everything aligned.

Those moments now belong to history.

The Final Roster — And the Marathon

Nine players finished the Ancient City Reds era on the final full-time roster:

  • Brendan Roberts
  • Matthew Skorstad
  • Hayden Perryman
  • Patrick Halloran
  • Liam Tarr
  • Tyce Erwin
  • Alejandro Rodriguez
  • Eli Norquist
  • Gabriel Crozier

But baseball programs aren’t just defined by who finishes — they’re defined by who stays.

Only three players ran the entire marathon, from the earliest days of this team to the final out at Space Coast:

  • Eli Norquist
  • Liam Tarr
  • Hayden Perryman

They were present for the growing pains, the early losses, the long practices, the first big wins, the deep tournament runs, and the final chapter. Seasons changed. Expectations rose. Rosters shifted.

They never left.

Longevity at this level is not accidental. It is commitment, belief, and buying into something bigger than yourself. These three didn’t just play for the Ancient City Reds.

They represented what the program was supposed to be.

What Comes Next

This is not an ending without direction.

It is a new chapter for everyone involved.

Florida Wolfpack 13U

Seven former Reds will move forward together, joining a brand-new Florida Wolfpack 13U team competing at the Perfect Game Majors level.

Players Moving to Florida Wolfpack

  • Brendan Roberts
  • Matthew Skorstad
  • Hayden Perryman
  • Patrick Halloran
  • Liam Tarr
  • Tyce Erwin
  • Eli Norquist

This is a new team in a new organization. Not a rebrand. Not a continuation. The Ancient City Reds were the focus. The Wolfpack is the future.

The competition level will be different.

The Wolfpack will compete in:

  • 5 tournaments at Boombah Sports Complex (Sanford, FL)
  • 3 tournaments in the Jacksonville area

These are the same environments that host nationally recognized, world-class programs. There are no reputation points. No easing in.

Perform or don’t play. Win or go home.

That is not a slogan. It is the level.

Leadership & Structure

This new chapter will be guided by an experienced and proven group:

  • Head Coach: Mark Campbell
  • Manager: Mike Norquist
  • Organization Leadership:
    • Eric Hurley — involved with older Wolfpack teams; Head Coach at St. Joseph Academy
    • Chris Fournier — Organization Manager

Experience matters when margins are thin. This staff understands what this level demands.

Other Paths Forward

Two Reds will pursue opportunities elsewhere:

  • Alejandro Rodriguez — exploring options with other organizations
  • Gabriel Crozier — has expressed interest in St. Augustine Strikeouts and PAL Warriors, with decisions still pending

Both are part of this story. Always.

A Special Thank You

Two players deserve to be recognized not just for wearing the jersey — but for what they meant to this team when it needed them most.

Gabriel Crozier joined the Ancient City Reds in Spring 2025 and spent two full seasons with the program. He didn’t just fill a spot — he performed, competed, and helped this team win meaningful games. More than that, he brought effort, positivity, and reliability every time he stepped on the field. He became part of the brotherhood quickly, and he leaves it better than he found it. Gabriel is a great kid with a bright future in this game, and wherever he goes next will be getting a competitor and a teammate worth trusting.

Alejandro Rodriguez joined the Reds for Fall 2025, and in one season became unforgettable. He walked off his very first game as an Ancient City Red — a moment instantly etched into this team’s story. Beyond the highlight, Alejandro showed up when the team truly needed him. His presence quite literally kept the Reds on the field, saving the team from forfeiting tournaments due to roster shortages. That matters. A lot. He gave this team a chance to compete when it could have ended differently. He is loved here, he will be missed, and he will always be part of this program’s legacy.

Baseball programs aren’t only defined by how long players stay — but by when they show up.

Gabriel and Alejandro showed up when it mattered.

The Shift

The Ancient City Reds were built on brotherhood, trust, and competitive joy — without sacrificing seriousness.

The Florida Wolfpack will be built on results.

That is not a criticism. It is evolution.

Different environments demand different standards. What does not change is what the Reds instilled:

  • Preparation
  • Accountability
  • High baseball IQ
  • Respect for the game

Those things travel.

Thank You

To Colby Ravan, Mike Norquist, and Coach Nate — the foundation of this team.

To the parents who drove the miles, trusted the process, and believed when belief was not always easy.

And to every player — past and present — who turned a rec-based idea into a real program.

Four seasons.

One identity.

A standard that mattered.

What Happens to This Site

AncientCityReds.com will undergo a full rebrand and transition to “Wolfpack 13U News,” serving as a coverage platform alongside the Wolfpack organization’s official site.

This post stands as the final official chapter of the Ancient City Reds.

Nothing erased.

Nothing rewritten.

Just finished.
